Computer Science: The wave of the past, present and future
According to recent statistics, computer science related jobs are projected to grow at a rate of around 20 percent or more over the next couple of years. Due to the new technological releases of smartphones, tablets, and the increased availability of technology in the world, the demand for Computer Science related jobs has increased drastically. Many tech companies throughout the United States have increased their recruiting efforts as a result of this demand.
Currently, the average computer science graduate earns between $75,000 and $100,000 as a starting salary, needing only a bachelor’s degree and a couple years of experience. Because of the high demand, most Computer Science undergraduate students choose to work part-time for those same tech companies, allowing the student to receive years of experience in the computer science field before they even graduate.
On many of the university campuses throughout the United States, enrollment in Computer Science classes has increased up to 25 percent over the past ten years. Even with this increase, employers are still forced to compete with each other to recruit new Computer Science graduates to work for their company.
Technology is an important part of everyday life in this modern world. As technology advances, the demand for technological jobs will inevitably increase. While job opportunities in almost every other field decreases, the demand for computer science related jobs increases providing well-paid job opportunities to thousands of new computer science graduates every year.
